A glorious Wedgwood Cameo brooch depicting a Bacchante figure on a deep blue background .  This Romanesque style became popular in the late 19th century, made popular by the Grand Tour. The cameo has a letter J impressed on the reverse side indicating the date 1881 along with the name of Wedgwood.

This lovely cameo is surrounded by a 9ct rose gold frame (marked 9ct), with a chain and safety pin attached for greater security.  It has a good fastening pin on the back.

An unusual early cameo brooch - in lovely condition ( some dark speckling is visible on the white figure only when viewed through a loupe, which we mention for accuracy only).
